The Canadian Dental Association says that regular professional cleaning and dental exams are vital to preventing gum disease and decay. Decay-causing tartar is harder than bone and can only be removed with special tools by a trained hygienist and gum disease can be present with no visible symptoms.
A typical oral hygiene appointment consists of a cleaning, polishing and dental examination. The hygienist begins by using a tool called a scaler to remove tartar and plaque from your teeth, then they clean and polish your teeth to remove stains. The hygienist may recommend a fluoride treatment to protect your teeth against decay.
After the cleaning, we'll give you a dental examination to spot early signs of decay, gum disease and oral cancer. We'll also check any fillings, crowns, and other dental work to make sure they're in good shape.
Teeth whitening is one of the easiest ways to instantly improve the way you look, so it’s no wonder that so many people are whitening their teeth today. We offer two different options for teeth whitening. Our 45 minute in-office whitening treatment offers a very gentle but effective option that works best on clean teeth. After we remove the whitening, we coat the teeth with a desensitizing paste to keep those teeth healthy and white! We also have a very safe at home teeth whitening option available.
We provide a thorough and comprehensive examination of your gum and bone health, hard and soft tissues and your cavity status. We offer state of the art digital x-rays to ensure top of the line imagery and can forward these radiographs on with any referral.
SDF arrests the progress of an already formed cavity in permanent or primary teeth. If you have the start of a cavity or a cavity still in its early stages we are able to treat it with silver diamine fluoride treatments to stop the bacteria that causes cavities in their tracks! No drilling required! If you have teeth with deep grooves they tend to be more prone to cavities. We use dental sealants to prevent the cavities by filling those deep groves so they are no longer a problem area.
We are pleased to offer direct billing. If you have insurance that offers direct billing we are happy to submit that claim on your behalf.
